얼마 전에 중국 광저우에 다녀왔습니다.

I recently visited Guangzhou, China.

중국 춘추항공을 타고 갔는데 난기류 때문에 멀미가 너무 심했어요.

I flew with Spring Airlines, but the turbulence was so bad that I got really motion sick.

저 지금 광저우 와서 광저우 공항인데 엄청 좋아요.

I just arrived in Guangzhou, and I'm at Guangzhou Airport right now. I really like it here.

이미그레이션 하는데 심지어 번역기도 있더라고요.

While going through immigration, I even found a translation device.

그래서 외국인 분들이 중국어 못 하시는 분들 많으니까 뭔가 그런 수속 밟을 때 문제 있으신 분들을 위해서 만들어진 것 같은데.

Since there are many foreigners who don't speak Chinese, I think it was made to help people who might have trouble during the immigration process.

공항이 진짜 깨끗하고 너무 모던하고, 와 진짜 좋아요.

The airport was really clean and very modern. Honestly, I was impressed.

공항에서 호텔까지 DiDi를 타고 갔는데 픽업 포인트 찾기가 쉬웠어요.

I took a DiDi from the airport to my hotel, and it was really easy to find the pickup point.

저는 일부러 관광지보다는 로컬 동네에서 머물렀거든요.

I intentionally stayed in a local neighborhood rather than near tourist attractions.

관광지가 아닌 진짜 광저우의 일상을 보여드릴게요.

I want to show you the real everyday life of Guangzhou, not just the typical tourist spots.

일단 아침 먹을 곳부터 좀 찾아볼게요.

First, let's find somewhere to have breakfast.

길거리 이발소는 동남아에서도 쉽게 볼 수 있는 풍경이라 크게 놀랍지는 않았어요.

Street barbershops are something you can easily see in Southeast Asia too, so it wasn't that surprising to me.

기후가 비슷해서인지 동남아에서 보던 익숙한 채소들이 정말 많았어요.

Maybe because the climate is similar, I saw many familiar vegetables that I usually see in Southeast Asia.

혹시 이거 아시는 분 계세요?

중국에서도 그렇고 다른 나라 차이나타운에 가면 꼭 이 음료를 팔더라고요.

I see this drink in China, and also in Chinatowns around the world.

엄청 진한 차 같은 건데 맛은 한국의 한약이랑 좀 비슷해요.

It's like a very strong herbal tea, and the taste reminds me a bit of Korean herbal medicine.

저는 이거 꼭 물에 희석해서 마셔요. 그냥은 절대 못 마시겠더라고요.

I always dilute it with water before drinking it. I honestly can't drink it straight.

여기는 광저우에서 중고 전자기기를 판매하는 곳인데 담배 연기가 너무 심해서 마스크를 썼어요.

This place in Guangzhou sells used electronics, but there was so much cigarette smoke that I had to wear a mask.

그냥 랜덤으로 상가 건물에 들어가 봤는데 아이들 자동차를 파는 것 같더라고요. 스케일이 꽤 크죠.

I randomly walked into a shopping building, and it looked like they sold kids' ride-on cars. The scale was pretty impressive.

예전에 홍콩에서도 해봤는데요.

I tried this before in Hong Kong too.

중국 광동 지역에서는 음식 먹기 전에 뜨거운 차로 그릇을 씻잖아요.

In Guangdong, China, people wash their bowls with hot tea before eating.

이렇게 하는 게 맞는지는 모르겠지만 일단 흉내 내봤어요.

I'm not sure if this is actually the correct way, but I just copied what everyone else was doing.

카메라에 담지 못했는데요. 제가 갔을 때 민들레 씨앗이 공기 중에 엄청 많이 날아다니고 있었거든요.

I couldn't capture this on camera, but when I visited, there were so many dandelion seeds floating through the air.

어렸을 때 그게 눈에 들어가면 눈병에 걸린다고 들었던 것 같은데 아직도 그런 얘기를 하는지는 잘 모르겠네요.

When I was little, I heard that if they got into your eyes, you could get an eye infection. I don't know if people still say that these days though.

여기 진짜 광저우에서 가장 좋았던 식사였어요.

This was honestly the best meal I had in Guangzhou.

그냥 평범한 생선죽이었는데 너무 편안하고 따뜻한 맛이었고 정말 맛있었어요.

It was just a simple fish porridge, but it was so comforting, warm, and delicious.

예전에 제가 베트남 호치민의 차이나타운을 보여드린 적 있잖아요.

I once showed you Chinatown in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

사실 이번 광저우 여행을 통해서 베트남이 광둥 지역의 영향을 얼마나 많이 받았는지 새삼 깨달았어요.

Through this trip to Guangzhou, I realized how much Vietnam has been influenced by the Guangdong region.

음식도 정말 비슷하고 식당이나 가게 구조, 인테리어까지 베트남이랑 너무 닮아 있었거든요.

The food was very similar, and even the layouts and interiors of restaurants and shops looked so much like Vietnam.

솔직히 지금 여기를 베트남 호치민 5군이라고 해도 전혀 이질감이 없을 정도예요.

Honestly, if someone told me this was District 5 in Ho Chi Minh City, I wouldn't find it strange at all.

광저우는 사실 세계 최대 규모에 소싱 시장이 있는 곳이잖아요.

Guangzhou is actually home to one of the world's largest sourcing markets.

마침 제가 갔을 때 캔톤 페어도 열리고 있었거든요.

When I visited, the Canton Fair was also happening.

물론 제가 소싱 업계에 종사하는 건 아니지만 미래는 또 알 수 없는 거잖아요?

Of course, I'm not working in sourcing, but you never know what the future holds, right?

언젠가 세계 최대 규모의 무역 박람회 캔톤 페어를 한번 가보고 싶었는데 아무나 들어갈 수 있는 곳은 아니더라고요.

Someday, I would love to visit the Canton Fair, one of the world's largest trade fairs, but it turns out it's not a place anyone can simply enter.

한국에서도 그 박람회에 가려고 1년씩 공부하고 준비하시는 분들도 계시더라고요.

Even in Korea, there are people who spend a year studying and preparing just to attend this fair.

이번에는 아쉽게도 못 가봤지만 다음에는 좋은 기회가 생겨서 중국의 거대한 시장을 직접 볼 수 있으면 좋겠다는 생각이 들었어요.

Unfortunately, I couldn't go this time, but I hope I get a chance someday to see China's huge market with my own eyes.
